Fixed fees
Fixed fees apply to the most common matters (challenging a notice to quit, expert proceedings, claims over defective plants, debt recovery, etc.). The full schedule is available in French. Unless otherwise stated, a fixed fee covers first-instance proceedings up to judgment.
Success fee
A success fee of 8% excl. VAT of the sums obtained or saved may be added to the fixed fee, only if the fee agreement provides for it. French professional rules prohibit fees based solely on the result.
VAT for clients abroad
Amounts are shown with French VAT at 20%. For business clients established outside France, different VAT rules may apply to legal services; this is specified in the fee agreement.
Disputes
Any dispute about fees may be referred to the President (bâtonnier) of the Nantes Bar. Consumers may also refer to the national consumer mediator for the legal profession (mediateur-consommation-avocat.fr).
